Shipping Update 

Shipping is based on item weight and service chosen.

All products will be baked and sent between Wednesday - Friday. Any special requests regarding dates, just let us know at info@bakdcake.com.

Please ensure all orders for the week are placed by Tuesday to ensure prompt delivery. Orders placed after this time go into the next weeks slot. You will get an email telling you which week your product will arrive. If this is not suitable just get in touch. If you check our home page when ordering it will usually say which week you will fall into. 

We no longer offer free shipping. Our prices have reduced to reflect this. Due to parcels going missing - especially since Covid-19 arrived, we cannot guarantee to replace missing orders if ordered with standard shipping.

Standard Shipping is 2nd Class Royal Mail - Normally arrives 3-5 business days (Mon-Fri)

Services with guarantee are stated below.

Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class - Usually arrives in 1-2 days (Thurs-Fri), signature is required.

Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class - Usually arrives in 3-5 days (Thurs-Tues). Requires signature. Do not choose for baked goods.

Royal Mail Special 1pm - This will arrive by 1pm Thursday unless another date is requested. Requires a signature.

Tracked 24 - normally arrives next business day (Thursday) unless another date is requested.

Bake at Home Kits
Please see above for updated shipping info.
All Bake at Home Kits have a best before date of approx. 6 months after you buy them. This is marked on the packaging.
All kits have clear allergen information on them. Whilst we share a manufacturing space between the Honeycomb Crunch Kit - which contains Milk & Soya, we do not use the same equipment to produce the kits that contain none of those allergens. The three other kits have their own equipment and are not produced at the same time that the kits with those allergens are in production.

Product Provenance 
Our products are gluten, nut and peanut free at a minimum. Many of our bake at home products are actually free from the top 14 allergens. Our ingredients are sourced from UK suppliers of UK Butter, Gluten Free Flour, Fairtrade Unrefined Sugar, Free Range Eggs and Nut & Peanut Free Chocolate that supports the Cocoa Farmers (see Callebaut site for lots of info on this).
We add NO PRESERVATIVES. This means that yes, shelf life is limited... but, we believe it is better than additives.
The brownie is good at room temp for about a week -we would recommend you pop it into either an airtight container or zip lock bag and pop it in the fridge and just lift it out a bit before you want to eat it. It is better at room temp or slightly warmed in the microwave.
Each pack will have a ‘best before’ date on it when it arrives. This is assuming you are keeping it at room temp. It is usually a week after baking. It will not harm you after this, but it may start to go a bit dry round the edges. If it is a bit dry, pop it in the microwave, serve warm with ice cream or just mix straight into ice cream.
If you want to save and portion your bakes. Pop it in either a ziplock food bag or airtight container and pop it in the freezer. It will be good for about 3 months.
These guidelines cover all brownie, cake and biscuits. They are general guidelines and we know things change.
Handy Hint - If your brownie or cake seems like it is getting a little dry, try popping it in the microwave for 20/30 seconds... this restores it's freshness and ensures a gooey middle...
 
Allergy Statement
We are a home-based small batch bakery – we have a Food Hygiene Rating of 5. Our Head Baker has a Food Hygiene Qualification Level 3 – for Managers & Supervisors. We have undertaken and then delivered to others, training about allergies, intolerances and cross contamination. Our Head Baker worked in a commercial kitchen for many years catering for many, many customers with severe allergies, and auto immune conditions.

ECO STATEMENT  We have worked hard to make our business as eco-friendly as we can.  Every product should arrive in as perfect a condition as when it left us.  In order to do this, a range of materials needs to be used: from storage, to pre-packing, from display to gifting, and then finally for postage and delivery. That's a lot of different processes to consider! Where possible we have made some great changes in what we use. All of our cardboard packaging is made from recycled materials and is fully recyclable. Our Baking Mix tubes are even compostable and will break down fully within just 6 months. Our new business stamps come from a company that plants a tree every time we order a custom design. Occasionally we must use plastics, our bags can be recycled as can the windows in the baking kits. Our little plastic boxes are made with recycled materials, but can only be recycled in some areas. Where possible we shy away from using these, but if we do, please understand it was necessary and try to think of a cool way to reuse them. We are all in this together, there is no planet B.
